Dear friends and family of THE KIT
I wanted to update you on some changes that are taking place at THE KIT in response to the impact COVID-19 is having on world, and the people in it, right here within our community. We have just been informed by our partner, Resonance, that they will temporarily be closing the factory where your beautiful garments are made (please see the full statement below).
This unfortunately means that we will not be accepting any new orders and for those that have already purchased, you will be receiving a full refund shortly via customer service. We do not yet have a date in place for when operations will resume but please sign up for our email, or check back here in the coming weeks, to be the first to know. Like you, we're taking things one day at a time.
We cannot thank you enough for the support you have shown this burgeoning brand as it grew and flourished from your efforts. As a small company that has always been thinking outside the box, we're optimistic that we will all see brighter days ahead.
Much love and safety,

Below is a letter sent from our partners:
To those who are dealing with this illness directly—our customers, friends, parents, caregivers—our hearts go out to you. Your health and well-being are of the utmost importance to our team. Due to the unprecedented impact COVID-19 is having on people all across the world, we want to update you on the steps we are taking at Resonance to respond to it.
The government of the Dominican Republic has instructed us and all industrial enterprises to shut our factories this weekend. Consequently, we have instructed all brands on our platform to stop taking orders for their products.
Despite this closure, we will pay all of our factory employees their full salaries for the next 14 days, and we have committed to retain our entire development and engineering teams in this location. This is a public health issue, and we must listen to the experts; the health and safety of our team is our primary focus and our deepest concern. Our employees are the lifeblood of our organization, and we are grateful and humbled by their incredible contributions.
In an effort to contribute to the Dominican health efforts, we have moved quickly to use our resources to manufacture safety masks for distribution to local hospitals, nursing homes, and other high-risk facilities as quickly as possible. We have provided instructions, costs, and materials, and will pay our sewers who can to make these masks from the security of their homes. So, the fabric that was used to make the beautiful clothing you wear from our brands will now be used to protect lives.
This will be our first step. We are searching for ways to make a similar contribution in New York City, and we will continue to evaluate other initiatives where we can, as a team, contribute to helping our communities.
This is, without a doubt, the hardest letter we have ever had to write. We know we will emerge stronger as a world community, a nation, a business and as individuals at the end of this crisis, and—until that time—we will continue to be focused on our mission of building a stronger, better, and more resilient fashion industry.
