WE MISSED YOU!
What an incredible journey these past few months have been, full of fear and doubt and change. I'm sure I'm not the only one who, at times, had a small quiet voice that whispered that 'things will never be the same again'. Throughout my time in quarantine, spent entirely in my NYC-sized apt, smack in the middle of it all, there was one thing that quietly and steadily grew. No, it wasn't my impatience with doing dishes after every meal, or the fact that I had given in and was wearing sweat shorts every day; it was hope. I don't want to get all Obama 2008-era on you but it's true.
THE KIT is my second endeavor. After building a previous design business to a respectable size many years ago, I quickly realized that my growth and fulfillment were completely dependent on - and being hindered by - an archaic system that the fashion industry has been complacent to change for decades. THE KIT was built in an entirely new way and on unwavering belief system:

Sustainability and less waste aren’t just talking points; they need to be interwoven into every part of this business.

Creative experimentation shouldn’t just be for the elite who can afford it, it should be for everyone.

The world has surely been injured, this industry has been brought to its knees but I do not believe that we should go back to the way things were: the waste, the bloat, the excess, the unrelenting speed. This is an opportunity to do things differently, to set a new higher standard, and THE KIT is ready to lead the way.
With all of that said, I am thrilled to announce that WE’RE BACK! We’ve officially begun the process of reopening our facilities to produce certain categories of clothing. This phased approach is crucial to the safety and quality of our team and your products, so be patient with us—there is a method to the madness! To answer some immediate questions that I've already been sent:

- When will all clothing be available? Phase Two will expand the offering and will be happening in the coming weeks. Much like the rest of the world we are actively monitoring all aspects and will continue fully reopening pending any unexpected changes.

- What if I don't see some of my favorite styles, are they coming back? Of course! The greatest thing about THE KIT is that we don't have any inventory as everything is made on-demand, so it's only a matter of time before that particular style is re-released as part of our phasing.

- How can I learn more about your practices? Right here! We'll be updating our site with more extensive processes and a greater understanding of how your clothes are made. There is no greater value than accountability and transparency and we're working very hard to show that to you!
I wholeheartedly believe in being the bright spot, even in cloudy times: it is the essence of what makes THE KIT stand on its own and hopefully that energy is passed onto to you when you wear it. Thank you for your continued patience and support as the world has changed around us all. We trust that things will grow and change--not just in the way we knew them, but for the better.
